Ultralife has held an ISO 9001 registration in portions of the organization since March of 1997. Third party registration by SAI GLOBAL has been maintained since that time, which provides a registered Quality Management System and facility for our customers. SAI GLOBAL is a leading provider of assessment and certification services for Quality Systems, both in the U.S. and worldwide.
The presence of an ISO 9001 Quality System substantiates that Ultralife meets the requirements for aerospace and defense business processes ranging from Design, Development, Manufacture and Marketing.
Ultralife also operates two facilities that are registered to the requirements of ISO14001:2004. Our Newark, NY facility was registered by QMI, Inc. in January 2008.
Our ABLE manufacturing facility in Shenzhen, China is also registered to these requirements.
In concert with our Quality Management System, our focus at each facility is on a waste-free workplace and continuous improvement of our operations.
By implementing the key elements of this standard, Ultralife ensures that its operations are compliant with legal and other requirements and that environmental risks are appropriately identified and managed.
About ISO 14001:2004
ISO 14001 is the international standard that specifies an Environmental Management System framework against which an organization can be registered. With ISO14001:2004, clauses have been clarified and updated to be in harmony with ISO9001:2000. This highly effective, globally accepted framework establishes and continually improves applicable management system processes. ISO 14001 can also be used as a guide to upgrade a company's present environmental management system in accordance with an internationally recognized set of requirements.
The procedures and elements of the ISO 14001 registration are based on sound environmental management principles. It contains only those requirements that can be objectively audited, and addresses the fundamental aspects of a company's operations. It can be used to integrate the environmental system with the overall organizational management structure to enhance performance and continual improvement.
